The TTESwitch A664 6U VPX Rugged is a powerful out-of-the-box high-performance 6U VPX Ethernet switch capable of full-duplex speeds of 10/100/1000 Mbit/s. At a total weight of 1020 grams this robust switch uniquely supports standard Ethernet (IEEE 802.3) as well as Deterministic Ethernet, like ARINC 664 p7 and Time-Triggered Ethernet (SAE AS6802), in one module. These unique features make the 16 port TTESwitch A664 6U VPX Rugged an ideal solution for efficient SWaP reduction management at the network system level.

Specifically designed to meet the challenges of harsh environments, the switch is ideally suited for building robust and reliable networks in rotorcraft and aircraft vehicles. It operates under the toughest conditions found in the air and on land, withstanding forces up to 40 g, vibrations of 2000 Hz and temperatures of up to +70 °C while remaining fully operational.

The 6U VPX Deterministic Ethernet switch enables the design of highly dependable systems with focus on high availability, reliability, integrity, security, maintainability and safety. The 6U VPX simplifies the design of complex distributed systems and applications as well as processing of critical Deterministic Ethernet (rate-constrained, time-triggered) and non-critical standard Ethernet traffic. High-priority time-triggered messages are routed through the 6U VPX switch according to a predefined schedule with fixed latency and a transmission jitter in the sub-microsecond range. Rate-constrained messages are routed and policed according to their guaranteed bandwidth (such as ARINC 664 p7). All other Ethernet messages are forwarded when bandwidth is available.
