Change2Twin, a European project supporting manufacturing SMEs in their digitalization process, is announcing the launch of its 2nd Deployment Voucher Open Call. This program provides up to 16 vouchers, worth 90,000 euros each, to European SMEs and mid-caps looking to digitize their processes with a digital twin. TTTech is a consortium member and supports the project with technical expertise and key technology.

Wind energy is a clean, renewable source of energy and the market for wind energy is likely to continue to grow. According to WindEurope, about 16% of electricity in Europe already comes from wind power.  Vestas is one of the largest manufacturers of wind turbines worldwide and TTTech Industrial has been working together with them successfully for more than 10 years.

TTTech Industrial has announced the appointment of Herbert Hufnagl as Member of the Executive Board and General Manager as of July 1, 2022.

In June 2022, the 3rd International Smart Factory Summit was held in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. The organizer Swiss Smart Factory (SSF) invited representatives from companies and research institutions active in industrial automation to the expansive Switzerland Innovation Park for three days of education, exchange, and networking.

The EU project Change2Twin* was started two years ago with the goal of supporting small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) in their digitalization journey. In a virtual kick-off event hosted by TTTech in March 2022, 11 companies that secured funding for their digital twin via the project’s open call, discovered suitable technologies and met their mentors for the first time.

Swiss Smart Factory, a local innovation hub located in Biel, Switzerland, recently opened the doors to its new state-of-the art factory shopfloor to a network of European partners. The experimental manufacturing facility houses high-tech products from numerous technology partners, including TTTech, and is hoped to become the site of many future research projects in Industry 4.0 and the industrial IoT.

On June 30, 2021, the H2020 project Change2Twin launches its second Open Call to support European manufacturing companies in their digitization using digital twin technology. TTTech is a consortium member and provides TTTech Industrial’s open edge computing platform Nerve to one of the project's four pilots.

TTTech Industrial Automation AG announced it has acquired core technology and strategic customers from Nebbiolo Technologies in May. It also founded a US subsidiary in Silicon Valley to expand its activities in North America. One of the co-founders of Nebbiolo Technologies, Kannan Devarajan, has joined TTTech Industrial North America Inc. as Managing Director.

Digital twin is the trend of the hour in the industrial IoT. Many companies dream of having this digital reproduction of a product, process or production site at their disposal, due to the cost and resource saving potential it offers in the mid- to long term. However, especially SMEs often struggle with organizational and technological barriers as well as high setup costs.

The EU-funded project i4Q (Industrial Data Services for Quality Control in Smart Manufacturing) aims to improve quality control in manufacturing by developing IoT-based Reliable Industrial Data Services (RIDS). TTTech Industrial provides the technology for reliable communication which will help manufacturing businesses reduce cost and resources and ultimately increase Europe’s competitiveness in manufacturing.

IoT Solutions provider TTTech Industrial today is launching the first commercial product based on the Linux Foundation’s ACRNTM hypervisor for the industrial market. With the latest release of its Nerve Blue industrial edge computing platform, TTTech Industrial is making ACRN 2.0 available to customers in a commercial, fully supported software solution that runs on Intel industrial processors.
