The TTESwitch A664 3U VPX Rugged is a powerful out-of-the-box high-performance 3U VPX Ethernet switch capable of full-duplex speeds of up to 1 Gbit/s. At a total weight of 495 grams this switch uniquely supports standard Ethernet (IEEE 802.3) as well as Deterministic Ethernet like ARINC 664 p7 and Time-Triggered Ethernet (SAE AS6802) in one module. Together with the ability to support optical and copper links in parallel the TTESwitch A664 3U VPX Rugged is the perfect solution for efficient SWaP reduction management at the network system level.

Specifically designed to meet the challenges of harsh environments, it is ideally suited for building robust and reliable networks in rotorcraft, aircraft and land vehicles. Complying with MIL-STD-810G the switch operates under the toughest conditions found in the air and on land: withstanding forces up to 40 g, vibrations of 2000 Hz, and temperatures of up to +85 °C while remaining fully operational.

The 3U VPX Deterministic Ethernet switch enables the design of highly dependable systems with focus on high availability, reliability, integrity, security, maintainability and safety. The 3U VPX simplifies design of complex distributed systems and applications as well as processing of critical deterministic Ethernet (rate-constrained, time-triggered) and non-critical standard Ethernet traffic. High-priority time-triggered messages are routed through the 3U VPX switch according to a predefined schedule with fixed latency and a transmission jitter in the sub-microsecond range. Rate-constrained messages are routed and policed according to their guaranteed bandwidth (such as ARINC 664 p7). All other Ethernet messages are forwarded when bandwidth is available.
