Digital twin is the trend of the hour in the industrial IoT. Many companies dream of having this digital reproduction of a product, process or production site at their disposal, due to the cost and resource saving potential it offers in the mid- to long term. However, especially SMEs often struggle with organizational and technological barriers as well as high setup costs.

The EU-funded project i4Q (Industrial Data Services for Quality Control in Smart Manufacturing) aims to improve quality control in manufacturing by developing IoT-based Reliable Industrial Data Services (RIDS). TTTech Industrial provides the technology for reliable communication which will help manufacturing businesses reduce cost and resources and ultimately increase Europe’s competitiveness in manufacturing.

Change2Twin is a European project, funded under the Horizon 2020 scheme, which supports manufacturing SMEs in their digitalization process by providing digital twin solutions.

TTTech has won the prestigious Living Standards Award 2021 in the category “IEEE Standards”. This was revealed in a digital awards ceremony on January 21, 2021 hosted by award giver Austrian Standards. The award honors TTTech’s standardization efforts in the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE).

The award honors TTTech’s standardization efforts in the IEEE, most notably in the area of Time Sensitive Networking (TSN), which guarantees safe and reliable information transmission within a network and thus enables novel functionalities in many application areas, like in the automotive domain and in industrial automation.

By 2050, the global population will have grown by 2 billion to a total of 9.7 billion, according to the United Nations. Increasing agricultural productivity and sustainable food production is critical to provide this population with food. Smart farming achieved through Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Internet of Things (IoT) technologies can create higher precision agriculture to help meet this demand.

October 2020 marked the successful completion of Productive 4.0, Europe’s largest research project in the field of digital industry. The project had a duration of more than three years.

Successful Second Deterministic Ethernet Forum in Vienna Over 200 participants gathered in Vienna last week for the second Deterministic Ethernet Forum to discuss the latest developments in the evolution of this technology. Standardization, convergence and examples of successful applications in the industrial and automotive sector were the dominating topics on the agenda.

TTTech’s co-founder and executive board member Georg Kopetz had the honor of being the closing keynote speaker of this year’s TSNA conference. Experts and key players from various industries discussed current and emerging Time-Sensitive Networking (TSN) standards and their potential for industrial applications.
