Safety Expert Automotive (m/f/d)

In this exciting function you will support our international customers in ensuring the safety of highly automated driving systems. Your role covers safety engineering and safety consulting tasks within cutting-edge development projects at customers and contributions to in-house R&D. You will focus on analyzing and improving E/E architectures, highly automated driving platforms, and fail-operational systems.
We will prepare you with an extensive onboarding at our headquarters in Vienna, where you will gain a deep understanding of our technology, our core product, and reference architecture designs for fail-operational E/E systems. You will then be ready to address multi-dimensional safety challenges and spread your knowledge on Functional Safety, Cybersecurity and Safety of the Intended Functionality.

Your Tasks

  • Support our customers’ development teams and provide guidance for the transition from fail-silent to fail-operational systems
  • Review and contribute to safe hardware and software architectures for highly automated driving, considering the relevant standards and technologies
  • Analyze, create and align system-level functional safety concepts and requirements, decompose for the HW and SW level and into module level
  • Conduct safety analyses, rate system availability, and ensure sufficient independence for redundancy
  • Verify adequacy and effectiveness of error detection, error handling and safety mechanisms
  • Employ our cutting-edge methodologies, that you help develop further
  • Closely collaborate with a core team of safety experts and technology specialists in our company

Your Profile

  • Acknowledged expertise in safety concepts and architectures on the vehicle, ECU, and SW levels
  • Experience in ISO 26262 (Functional Safety), ISO 21448 (SOTIF) and ISO 21434 (Cybersecurity)
  • Strong system-level thinking and understanding of the challenges and solutions in the development of highly automated driving systems and ADAS
  • Expert knowledge in SW architectures and real-time embedded SW development on mid- and high-end SOCs (POSIX, RTOS, virtualization)
  • Knowledge of Classic and Adaptive AUTOSAR, SOA (service-oriented architecture), and Automotive networking technologies (Ethernet, CAN-FD, LVDS)
  • Strong intercultural and communication skills
  • Degree in a related technical field of study, Master’s or above preferred

We provide an attractive and performance-based salary, which is based on your qualifications and professional experience. This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for Employees in the Metal Trade (“Kollektivvertrag für Angestellte Metallgewerbe”) and we offer a minimum salary of € 65,000.- gross per year. Actual compensation can be well above this standard.
