The AFDXEnd System Rugged is equipped with two 10/100/1,000 Mbit/s Ethernet P14 rear-I/O ports running at full-duplex speeds. The conduction-cooled design of the board enables operations under the harshest conditions: withstanding forces up to 40G, vibrations of 2,000 Hz and temperatures of up to +85 °C while remaining fully operational at an altitude of 18,300 m (60,000 ft).

Full AFDX® compatibility allows for seamless integration into existing standard 10/100 Mbit/s ARINC 664 / AFDX® networks. Future network upgrades to 1 Gbit/s speeds were taken into consideration as the end system supports 10, 100 Mbit/s as well as 1,000 Mbit/s at full-duplex speeds.

The AFDXEnd System Rugged provides a fully in hardware implemented and therefore deterministic IP/UDP communication layer for critical traffic which offloads the host CPU. It enables real-time Ethernet communication between an embedded computer and switches for redundant channels in a safety-critical system.

The AFDXEnd System Rugged is available as PMC and XMC with P14 rear-I/O variants.
