Exploring new ways to simplify spacecraft software and system architectures

Main characteristics of this market – at least for the segment that flies (launchers, satellites and other space vehicles) – are extremely harsh environmental conditions, low production volumes and, for now, no options for maintenance or repair during operation in space. Therefore, space equipment has to be ultra-dependable and all systems have to be meticulously tested before deployment. To facilitate re-use, standardized elements and composability are vital.

TTTech Aerospace has been engaged in this market since 2000 as provider of chip IP, development equipment and PC based tooling (network configuration) with an initial focus on North America (NASA). Since there is a great match between the key market requirements of dependability (reliability) and composability and TTTech’s core technologies, it is our focus to play an important role in networked embedded computing in different segments of the space market. The initial focus is on human spaceflight and launcher applications in Europe and North America. With TTEthernet we offer a standardized (SAE AS6802) networking technology with outstanding characteristics for these and other applications. The platform solution’s values have been acknowledged by several space agencies and leading industrial partners.
