Test Automation Engineer (m/f/d)

As a Test Automation Engineer, you will play a key role in developing, automating, and maintaining our test infrastructure for embedded systems. You will work hands-on with Hardware in the Loop (HIL) setups, test frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and automated metrics processing to ensure high quality, safety critical software delivery.

Your Tasks

  • Develop, maintain, and extend automated test environments and test automation workflows
  • Implement automated test metrics and KPI collection to drive data based quality improvements
  • Design, build, and maintain Hardware in the Loop (HIL) systems and associated environments
  • Set up new test systems and continuously improve existing ones
  • Ensure reliable operation of test infrastructure by implementing health checks, calibration, preventive maintenance, and equipment management
  • Develop and maintain test frameworks (e.g., pytest)
  • Define, implement, and support the integration of AI-driven methods in the test process

Your Profile

  • Technical degree (TU/FH) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Strong Python programming skills; additional experience with PHP and MySQL
  • Hands-on experience with Jenkins, CI/CD pipelines, and test automation workflows
  • Practical experience in software and system testing for embedded systems
  • Experience in safety critical domains (automotive, aerospace, machinery) is a strong plus
  • Experience with HIL systems and automated test environments
  • ISTQB certification is an advantage
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a quality-first mindset and attention to detail
  • Reliable, committed team player with an independent working style
  • Strong communication skills in English; German proficiency is a plus

We provide an attractive and performance-based salary, which is based on your qualifications and professional experience. This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for Employees in the Metal Trade ("Kollektivvertrag für Angestellte Metallgewerbe") and we offer a minimum salary of € 54,000 gross per year. Actual compensation can be well above this standard.
