MYTHOS is a family of qualified high-speed, managed network switches designed to be the reliable digital backbone of your onboard avionics. It has been derived from use cases in space transportation (including landers) and its larger brothers used in deep space exploration. It is now targeting satellites in particular. It supports standard Ethernet but also TTEthernet®
Qualified device and network management software
MYTHOS contains an integrated management CPU to perform configuration loading, device management, and diagnostic services. Users can continuously monitor the system health state over the network via SNMP. Monitored parameters include supply voltage, board temperatures, dropped/rejected frames, synchronization state, and built-in self-test results. Both firmware and network traffic schedule can be updated safely via the TFTP network protocol without interruption of the network service. The complete switch software has a dual heritage: Qualification for the Ariane 6 launch vehicle and for the highly reliable switching units used in the Lunar Gateway.
Qualified system-on-chip at the core
All MYTHOS switches are based on the flight-proven TTESwitch Controller HiRel, implementing switching and management functions on silicon using radiation hardening design techniques. This SoC uses less power than comparable high-performance FPGAs.
