Audi showcases its edge in piloted driving with the presentation of the Audi Prologue Piloted Driving showcar at this year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. Part of the Prologue is the Advanced Driver Assistance System Platform (zFAS), co-developed with TTTech, enabling Audi to integrate a variety of innovative functions with multiple safety criticality levels like piloted parking or driving.

zFAS processes information gathered by the sensors to create a detailed impression of the car's surroundings. An online connection will route this data to a cloud‑based IT backend. There, the data will be processed using machine learning algorithms and artificial intelligence before it is transmitted back to the car. The car thus continually expands its intelligence as it drives, ceaselessly improving its performance in complex situations. At the same time, other users of this technology can also benefit from this accumulation of information.
The cooperation for zFAS between Audi, TTTech and innovative high-tech suppliers for the piloted car demonstrates the convergence of information and control technology. In a press release by Altera, Ricky Hudi, Head of Electrics/Electronics at AUDI AG, states, "With TTTech, Altera, NVIDIA and our other partners, we are delivering piloted driving that allows our customers to experience a new level of performance and safety in fully featured vehicles from Audi."
Furthermore TTTech partner NXP Semiconductors showcases its latest solutions for the secure connected car at CES Las Vegas. NXP and TTTech jointly develop automotive Ethernet switch solutions also supporting OPEN Alliance BroadR-Reach® Ethernet PHY technology and TTEthernet® (SAE AS6802). The switch chip will be specifically designed for the automotive market, but will also be suitable for various demanding industrial real-time applications.Back
