Markus Gstöttner, Economic Advisor and Deputy Chief of Staff at the Austrian Federal Chancellery, visited the TTTech Global Headquarters located in the 4th District of Vienna, Austria, on October 1, 2020. TTTech co-founder and CEO Georg Kopetz gave him a brief tour of the company premises, followed by an open discussion at TTTech’s “Innovation Space” showroom. The talk highlighted TTTech’s digital breakthrough solutions, which are already being used in smart cars, wind-turbines, airplanes and spacecrafts all over the world.

Companies like TTTech are putting Vienna and Austria on the global map as forerunners in megatrends like autonomous mobility, the industrial Internet of Things and innovative space technology. For instance, the two Vienna-based companies RUAG and TTTech are currently working on providing key technology and products for upcoming NASA and ESA missions. These missions will bring the first woman and next man to the moon in 2024. Companies in Vienna can thus leverage their innovation and R&D synergies with the strong support of local and federal governmental agencies to secure and extend their technology leadership role as well as boost Vienna’s attractiveness as a location for global scale-ups and tech startups alike.

“Vienna is an ideal headquarter city because of the high quality of life, high density of reputable universities and research centers, a close-knit innovation and business network as well as its proximity to key industrial customers in Austria, Southern Germany, Northern Italy and CEE,” Georg Kopetz said. “However, some progress can still be made when it comes to bringing these advantages across to internationally leading financial and strategic investors.” “It needs both the dedication from committed entrepreneurial companies as well as the continued support on the part of both federal and local government to attract even more industrial leaders to Vienna as investors,” Markus Gstöttner agreed. Thus, growing an ecosystem of innovation generates high-tech jobs and also elevates Vienna’s and Austria’s reputation as business location of choice for providers of leading digital solutions which enable a more sustainable society.
