The TTESwitch 3U VPX is a rugged out-of-the-box high-performance production Ethernet switch specifically designed to meet the challenges of harsh environments and is ideally suited for building robust and reliable networks in rotorcraft, aircraft and land vehicles. The switch is manufactured according to TTTech's highest quality standards and can be deployed in high-volume series production programs.

Features of the 3U VPX Deterministic Ethernet Switch

This Deterministic Ethernet switch enables the design of highly dependable systems with focus on high availability, reliability, integrity, security, maintainability, and safety. It simplifies design of complex distributed systems and applications as well as processing of critical (rate-constrained, time-triggered) and non-critical Ethernet traffic. High-priority time-triggered messages are routed through the 3U VPX switch according to a predefined schedule with fixed latency and a transmission jitter in the sub-microsecond range. Rate-constrained messages are routed and policed according to their guaranteed bandwidth (such as ARINC 664 p7). All other Ethernet messages are forwarded when bandwidth is available.

The high-performance 3U VPX switch enables packet processing at all twelve fully-duplexed 1 Gbit/s Ethernet ports at full line speeds.

The built-in management module allows data loading as well as querying of the network status. Regarding security, the management module is protected by a fault-tolerant distributed unlocking mechanism. A comprehensive set of built-in tests (power-on built-in test, continuous built-in test, initiated built-in test) is available for health management functions.
