Deterministic ARINC 664 Part 7 / AFDX Ethernet End System for Development Efforts of Aircraft and Rotorcraft Vehicles

The AFDXEnd System Lab for development and laboratory environments is a high-performance PMC/XMC card with two 10/100/1000 Mbit/s Ethernet ports running at full-duplex speeds. The end system is fully compliant to the ARINC 664 part 7 standard / AFDX® and specifically designed for rapid product development of aerospace networks. 

Full AFDX compatibility allows for seamless integration into existing standard 10/100 Mbit/s AFDX networks. Future upgrades of AFDX networks to 1 Gbit/s speeds were taken into consideration as the AFDXEnd System Lab supports 10, 100 Mbit/s as well as 1000 Mbit/s at full-duplex speeds. Furthermore the board allows for flexible and easy physical layer configuration as it supports the installation of copper and optical SPFs.

The AFDXEnd System Lab provides a fully in hardware implemented and therefore deterministic IP/UDP communication layer for critical traffic which offloads the host CPU. It enables real-time Ethernet communication between an embedded computer and switches for redundant channels in a safety-critical system.

The AFDXEnd System Lab is available as PMC, PCI, XMC and PCIe variant. The card could also be used on CPCIe, VME, VPX and VXS carrier boards (additional testing required) and can therefore be plugged into various PCs or embedded CPU boards for lab use or field applications.
