CAN and FlexRay Gateway Tool for Test Labs and Vehicle Trials

TTTech Automotive, a subsidiary of TTTech that specializes in automotive networking solutions, is releasing a new version of TTXConnexion. A gateway between FlexRay and CAN networks, as well as functions for data manipulation, data analysis and logging, are combined to make TTXConnexion a universal tool for use in test laboratories and vehicle trials.

The gateway function of TTXConnexion makes it possible to combine CAN and FlexRay networks as desired, thus speeding up system integration and vehicle testing. TTXConnexion translates between the various stages of development, resulting in maximum flexibility in the development, integration and test phases.

"TTXConnexion has proven itself to be an efficient tool for system integration of FlexRay and CAN networks, and is now an integral part of our testing laboratory and vehicle trials at leading automotive manufacturers", says Marc Lang, Director Sales at TTTech Automotive.

The new version of TTXConnexion offers configurable, integrated termination resistors for all FlexRay and CAN buses that are connected to the device. The resistors can be switched on and off using buttons on the device, making it unnecessary to use external termination resistors on the bus. The smaller dimensions of the tool make TTXConnexion the ideal portable solution for system integration of FlexRay and CAN networks, from the prototype phase to serial production. Also, the connectors on the tool have been reengineered so that the area necessary for cabling has been reduced.

In addition, TTXConnexion's trigger concept has been optimized. The triggers that the user has configured for the tool are displayed on the tool itself, facilitating configuration of the desired behavior. Enhanced data manipulation functions make it possible to carry out manipulations with the desired repetition. To keep current consumption low, particularly in vehicles that are not running, TTXConnexion allows the user to put the device into a state in which current consumption is lowered. The activation of the so-called "sleep state", as well as wakeup conditions, are configurable and can be given delay times.

TTXConnexion can be rapidly integrated into the testing process, and is easy to configure. Using the corresponding software tools for recording and analyzing data, error risks can be detected efficiently, and testing productivity can be raised.
