Technical Lead Embedded Software – Aviation & Space (m/f/d)

In this technically exciting function, you will be the leading software engineer in development projects of our safe and reliable embedded systems. You work with the project manager, internal and external customers and lead the SW project team to successful product developments and integrations in the next-generation aircrafts and spacecrafts.

Your Tasks

  • Technical leading of software development for safety-critical embedded systems complying to applicable standards and using industry best practices
  • Definition and planning of software work packages in alignment with stakeholders, break-down into tasks
  • Specification and review of software requirements
  • Design of software and system architectures
  • Support software certification/qualification and represent the engineering team towards auditors internally, at customers, authorities or agencies
  • Create and optimize plans and procedures and secure their practical implementation by guidance, training and mentoring
  • Support the sales and customer service organization with technical expertise

Your Profile

  • Technical degree - preferably with reference to computer science or information technology
  • At least 5 years of experience in SW engineering in safety-critical domains
  • Experienced with RTOS for aerospace, e.g. VxWorks
  • Familiar with computer networks, ideally Ethernet-based, as well as multi-core platforms
  • Solid knowledge about software processes in either aerospace (DO-178C, DO-330) or space (e.g. ECSS-E-ST-40C, NPR 7150.2C)
  • Considerate planner and leader, willing to make technical decisions and guide team members
  • Committed team player, solution-oriented, happy to share own knowledge and work on improvements
  • Very good command of English, German is a plus

We provide an attractive and performance-based salary, which is based on your qualifications and professional experience. This position is subject to the Collective Agreement for Employees in the Metal Trade (“Kollektivvertrag für Angestellte Metallgewerbe”) and we offer a minimum salary of € 55,000.- gross per year. Actual compensation can be well above this standard.
