TTXDisturbance Node - Fault Injection Device

TTXDisturbance Node provides all necessary means to inject realistic network disturbances into a FlexRay-based system, whether simple, single upsets or complex fault scenarios. The device is suitable to examine the robustness of FlexRay networks and physical layers, from early prototype versions up to the start of production.

A cost saving way to test and validate systems
Experiments utilizing disturbances may reveal potential failure modes that were not previously discovered by analysis, automatic execution and regression testing. With this device, network designers and test engineers can achieve unprecedented test coverage for vehicle systems in the lab and in the vehicle based on FlexRay.

Fault injection capabilities
TTXDisturbance Node injects bus faults for testing the communication subsystem, the network layer. Fault injection scenarios include the loss of data transmission, short-circuit, open-circuit and mismatched termination of bus wires, as well as loss of specific data. With TTXDisturbance Node these faults can be introduced in a controlled and reproducible way. User-configured fault injection campaigns comprise single, multiple, periodic and intermittent faults. Therewith, the robustness of a FlexRay network, the effects of network faults on system behavior as well as the fault handling capabilities of the system can be examined.
