TTXActive Star is a star coupler for FlexRay systems that allows the user to build a variety of bus structures.
Point-to-point connection between transmitter and receiver
When compared to bus structures, star couplers offer a significant advantage. They provide a point-to-point connection between the transmitter and the receiver, which is particularly beneficial for high transmission speeds and long transmission lines.
Versatile FlexRay structures
The device enables the user to build up a complex FlexRay topology by offering up to 12 FlexRay branches. Especially in case where the identified cable length is longer than 10 meters, the use of TTXActive Star should be considered. The simplest active star provides two branches, allowing to split the wiring harness into two electrically decoupled parts. In addition, a star coupler featuring 12 branches is available, which enables the separation into 12 decoupled parts. Because of their shielded housing design and built-in accumulator, both fulfill the requirements to run EMC tests for FlexRay-based systems.
