Together with Sauer-Danfoss, TTTech has initiated a steer-by-wire working group with more than 20 off-highway vehicle manufacturers, suppliers, and organizations. This working group is driven by TTA-Group, a cross-industry consortium for highly dependable time-triggered systems.
The mission of the working group is to define a certifiable reference architecture for a complete steer-by-wire application without mechanical backup for on-road use.
This includes the selection of norms and legislations to be compliant with, the derivation of guidelines as well as the definition of functional and safety requirements. Together with experts from member companies, the group works on the implementation of an architecture and the generation of a technical template.
To approve the resulting concept and to ease the homologation step for steer-by-wire, the German TÜV Nord organization has been involved in the process from the beginning.
